

Nakisha Jamieson (b 1998, Sydney Australia) is a Sydney-based artist who creates paintings, sculptures and installations that explore the relationship between the digital and the physical space. She investigates ways the digital realm of the internet has become enmeshed with physical reality that shapes a new understanding of the natural environment. Through using discarded e-waste and iconic digital imagery her work address the implications of this new vision of reality, referencing the impact of unseen infrastructure and waste of digital technology on the environment.
Nakisha Jamieson has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the National Art School, Sydney, with a major in painting. She is currently working with the Monto Museum of Art in the digitalising the Gil Jamieson collection. Jamieson is a part of the artist collective Juice co, which aims to connect emerging artist with a platform to show art in alternative space.
Jamieson has been exhibiting her work since 2018 between the Northern Rivers and Sydney. She has had a solo exhibition at Gallery 3, Byron Bay in 2020 and recently shown in group exhibitions including, Sketch Co gallery (2022), Abstract Though (2022), Ambush Gallery (2021). Jamieson has curated a group show at Small Time Studio, Mullumbimby (2021). Her work has also been used for Album art, for the Babe Rainbow, Family Jordan, Maria Benz and Solly Dass.
Jamieson has been Short listed in The Clyde & Co Art Award 2022, award of Highly Commended at the C.A.S.E Post Card Show BSA 2019 and Runner Up in the Shearwater Wearable Arts competition at Shearwater Steiner School, 2014.
